DP Ruto's Popularity Soars in Kisii as 10 MPs Pledge Support ¶
Naibu Rais William Ruto's popularity continues to soar in Kisii as 10 MPs pledge their support for his 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking at a Seventh Day Adventist church in Igare on August 3, Munge wa Mugirango Kaskazini Joash Nyamoko said Ruto is a development-oriented leader who is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Hatujafungwa macho katika kuchagua kumuunga mkono, kilichoko ni kwamba Dkt Ruto ni bora kuliko wengine kuchukua nafasi ya Uhuru kwa sababu ya anayoweza kufanyia nchi hii na jamii yetu," Nyamoko said.
He added that the Omogusii community has a big opportunity to benefit if they stand with Ruto when he seeks the presidency.
MPs from various political parties who are allegedly funded by Ruto have been touring Kisii and Nyamira to drum up support for him.
Speaking at the same event, Syvenus Osoro, the MP for Mogirango Kusini, asked all the leaders in the region to support Ruto in 2022.
"Hatujamuona yeyote mwenye nguvu za kumshinda Ruto na hivyo tunaika jamii kumkumbatia," they said.
The group of politicians who are allegedly funded by Ruto have been touring Kisii and Nyamira to drum up support for him.
Some of the politicians who attended the event included Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba), Vincent Kemosi (Mugirango Magharibi), Alfer Miruka (Bomachoge Chache), Innocent Obiri (Bobasi), Ezekiel Machogu (Nyaribari Masaba), Martius Robi (Kuria Magharibi), and Oroo Oyioka (Bonchari).
They said their intention is to ensure that the people of Kisii vote for Ruto in 2022.
