On Saturday, August 3, 2019, St Anthony's Kitale secured the Under-19 boys' football championship by defeating Dagoretti High School 1-0 in the final of the Kenya Secondary Schools Association Term Two national games in Kisumu.
The Rift Valley Region, which had also won the overall title in the Term One games, repeated their success by garnering 89 points and winning 11 medals, including five gold, five silver, and one bronze.
St Anthony's Boys Kitale led the region's sports giants, while East Africa girls' volleyball champions Kwanthanze and Kaya Tiwi successfully defended their titles after other 2018 winners failed to qualify for the nationals.
Wiyeta recaptured the U16 crown in girls' football by beating newcomers Maeni from Western 2-1 in the final, adding a second trophy to their region.
St Joseph's Kitale and St Monica dominated table tennis, with the girls' select badminton side also outclassing their opponents to win gold.
Despite finishing behind other regions, North Eastern showed improvement, refusing to be whipped by their opponents as it has been the norm in the past.
Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Secretary General David Ngugi praised the North Eastern teams for their courage and show of improvement, stating, "North Eastern teams have greatly improved. They are more skilled and much stronger this year and we expect them to get better."
