On Saturday, August 3, 2019, the par-72 course at Kenya Railways Golf Club played host to the SKF golf day, where George Muraguri, fondly known as Sir George, showcased his exceptional golfing skills to emerge tops.

Playing off a handicap of 13, Muraguri attributed his triumph to his long iron and wood shots, which enabled him to make the most of the accommodating greens on regulation.

Despite facing a few challenges with his short-game, Muraguri's precise long hitting and six pars, including three on the front-nine, secured his win.

He bogeyed several holes, including the opener, par-4 second, and par-4 seventh, but redeemed himself with an Eagle on the par-5 10th and a birdie on the par-5 16th hole.

When asked about his performance, Muraguri said, "I came out to the course to relieve myself of stress and have a good-time out here, where a breath of fresh air comes with the serenity that the course offers."

He also expressed his gratitude for the course's excellent condition, stating, "The course is in top condition and equally playing well. I think it’s one of the most improved courses around."
