On Sunday, August 4, 2019, Kanbis' Nelson Odhiambo made headlines with a blistering unbeaten half-century that secured his team's victory in the Hirani Telecoms Invitational Twenty20 tournament.

Odiambo's impressive 67 not out came off 51 deliveries, featuring five boundaries and two towering sixes, making him Kanbis' highest run-getter in the match.

However, Kanbis' win was not without its challenges, as they faced a tough opponent in Ruaraka, who had set a target of 140 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Valbhav Patil top-scored for Ruaraka with 61 runs off 51 balls, including two boundaries and three sixes. He shared a crucial partnership of 95 runs with Mukund Sardar, who scored 42 runs off 30 balls with three boundaries.

The stand was eventually broken when Narendra Patel bowled out Mukund. Neel Akash contributed 14 runs off 14 balls, including two boundaries, while the trio of Patil, Sardar, and Akash were Ruaraka's key batsmen.

For Kanbis, Nelson Odhiambo and Naschay Kerai took two wickets each, while Narendra Patel took two wickets for Ruaraka.

In reply, Kanbis reached the target of 143 runs with six wickets and five balls in hand. Odhiambo shared a winning fifth-wicket stand of 51 runs with Ankit Hirani, who remained unbeaten on 18 runs off 16 balls, including a boundary and a six.

Narendra Patel was the other Kanbis batsman who shone with the bat, scoring 38 runs off 25 balls with five boundaries and two sixes.
