On August 4, 2019, a police officer in Nakuru was shot and injured by armed criminals while conducting patrols in the Kisulisuli and Bondeni area.

According to Nakuru East Police Commander Elena Kabukuru, the officer was shot in both legs after the suspects, who claimed ownership of a suspicious vehicle, opened fire on the officers.

The suspects attempted to escape but were thwarted when the police officers deflated their tyres. They abandoned the vehicle at Bondeni area, where it was later recovered by police.

The injured officer was rushed to Mediheal hospital in a critical condition, but is now reported to be in stable condition after examination.

Police have launched an investigation to arrest the criminals involved in the attack.
