On Saturday, August 4, 2019, police in Mombasa made a significant drug bust, seizing three kilograms of cocaine worth over Sh11 million.
The cocaine was discovered at a private residence in Kisauni estate, Mombasa, following a tip-off from members of the public.
During a multi-agency operation, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested two suspects, Juma Suleiman, 47, and Bashur Omar, 59.
According to DCI, the drugs were concealed in a suitcase containing clothing, with false bottoms on the sides of the suitcase containing a whitish substance that tested positive for cocaine.
Police have launched further investigations to gather more information related to the nabbed narcotics, with the two suspects set to be arraigned and charged in court on Monday.
