The Hollywood superstar, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, has publicly admitted to retiring from wrestling for the first time, but has not ruled out a potential return to the WWE.
Speaking on Live with Kelly and Ryan, The Rock, 47, revealed that he misses wrestling and loves the thrill of performing in front of a live audience.
"I quietly retired from wrestling because I was lucky enough to have a wonderful career and accomplish what I wanted to accomplish," he said.
However, he left the door open for a potential return, stating, "There's nothing like a live crowd, live audience, live microphone."
With a net worth of $124 million, according to Forbes, The Rock has been busy promoting his new film 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw' and has been named the highest-paid actor for 2019.
His last big feud in the WWE was with John Cena, culminating at WrestleMania 29, while his last official match took place at WrestleMania 32, where he defeated Erick Rowan in just six seconds.
The Rock's WWE debut in 1997, as Rocky Maivia, was a memorable one, with him starring in a Survivor Series match at Madison Square Garden.
"I had my very first match ever in the WWE in Madison Square Garden. It was a big pay-per-view and, it's funny because I credit my journey in pro wrestling to getting me to where I am today — especially that particular night," he said.
