On August 4, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko sparked controversy with his remarks about Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo, saying 'Millie tunajua unafanyua.'

Millie Odhiambo took to Facebook to respond to Sonko's comments, admitting to the claims but questioning why Sonko would be concerned with her personal life.

'Why should it be your headache who I have it with, how I have it or how often I have it,' she asked. 'Such a knowledge, my brother, can not help us deal with the cancer menace or joblessness in Kenya.'

Odhiambo also accused Sonko of being overly obsessed with demeaning women sexually, saying 'men who are overly obsessed with demeaning women sexually, have either a coma or a fullstop where it matters.'

She emphasized that unlike Sonko, who prefers cheap publicity, she takes her work to the floor of the house and contributes to laws that benefit women, children, and society.

Millie Odhiambo also revealed that unlike Sonko, who engages in drama, she actually funds children and women's rights organizations and initiatives.

'Send your senji type bloggers I deal with one by one. I am a one-woman army,' she concluded.
