On a typical day in Nairobi's CBD, a woman's worst fears can come true in an instant. For Caroline Njung'E, that moment arrived when she heard footsteps behind her, closing in fast.
With 2,000 bob in her purse, she quickened her pace, determined to outrun the mugger. But as she half-walked and half-ran, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being stalked.
Just as she was preparing to dive into a bank entrance, the footsteps overtook her. But to her surprise, it wasn't a mugger at all – it was a young man in a suit and tie, carrying a brown A4 envelope.
