Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko made headlines in Nakuru on August 4, 2019, after he arrived at a hotel with a motorcade that resembled a president's convoy.
The motorcade, which included four fuel guzzlers and a mini-fire engine belonging to the Nairobi County Government, caused a stir among hotel guests.
According to eyewitnesses, Sonko insisted that the hotel chef and manager taste the food served to him before he could eat, leaving them in shock.
“The hotel chef and manager had to take two mouthfuls in front of him before to confirm the food was safe,” said one of the clients who witnessed the drama.
Earlier, Sonko had launched a scathing attack on Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura and Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo on his Facebook account, dismissing them for claiming he was seeking political mileage when he disclosed that the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s had a secret family with a nominated MCA.
“If speaking the truth is what you call political Bonga points, let it be. This habit we leaders have of having extramarital affairs and once the women are pregnant we disown them must come must stop,” Sonko posted.
