Isaac Ruto Snubbed at Joyce Laboso's Funeral ¶
Isaac Ruto, the former governor of Bomet, was not given the chance to eulogize Joyce Laboso, the late governor of Bomet, during her funeral, sparking disappointment among Kenyan netizens.
According to reports, Isaac Ruto did not speak at the requiem masses held in Nairobi, Bomet, and Koru, despite being Laboso's predecessor.
Some social media users have interpreted the failure to recognize Isaac Ruto as artificially created by influential people in the Jubilee Party, who were unhappy when he decamped to Raila Odinga's camp.
However, others defended the decision, citing that Isaac Ruto used a tribal tag against Laboso during the 2017 gubernatorial elections by telling the electorate that Laboso was not a Bomet resident since she was married by a man from Kisumu County.
Isaac Ruto had earlier expressed his condolences to Laboso's family via social media, saying, 'Our prayers and heartfelt condolences to the family of Joyce Laboso in this time of loss and grief. The governor will be remembered for her dedication to improving the lives of the residents of Bomet.'
He also pressed upon the state to set up well-equipped cancer centers so that the country may be able to battle the cancer menace.
Netizens have taken to social media to express their disappointment and frustration over the incident, with some calling it unfair to Isaac Ruto.
