Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has sparked controversy with a call to action for women with secret children of elected leaders and senior civil servants.
On August 4, 2019, Sonko asked women in this situation to contact him, offering to help them get DNA tests done for their children.
He provided his phone numbers, 0722886600 and 0739555555, for women to reach out to him.
At the memorial service for the late Ken Okoth, Sonko had revealed that Okoth had a child born out of wedlock, sparking both praise and criticism.
Some leaders, including Suba North MP Millie Mabona and Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, criticized Sonko's actions, with Mwaura accusing him of seeking to gain political points at the funeral.
However, some social media users supported Okoth's other woman, Ann Thumbi, a nominated MCA, who was recognized by the family at the service.
