Kenya and Tanzania are set to renew their rivalry in a 2020 CHAN qualification second leg match on Sunday, August 4, in Nairobi. The two teams played to a goalless draw in Dar Es Salaam, and the winner of this match will face Sudan in the next qualification round.

However, Tanzania has been dealt a blow after it was confirmed that first-choice keeper Aishi Manula, defender David Mwantika, and midfielder Ibrahim Ajib will miss the match due to injuries.

The team has since named Ally Yusuf, Godfrey Masai, and Haruna Shamte to take their places, but it remains to be seen if they will walk straight to the starting line-up.

According to a statement from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the players who were eliminated from the squad due to injuries were David Mwantika, Aishi Manula, and Ajib Ibrahim. They have been replaced by Mohamed Ally Yusuf (Lipuli), Oscar Godfrey Masai (Azam FC), and Haruna Shamte (Lipuli).

Kenya has included Boniface Muchiri of Tusker and Kevin Omondi of Kakamega Homeboyz in the squad.
