Summer in New York City is a time of heat, humidity, and uncertainty. But for many residents, the most daunting challenge of the season is not the sweltering temperatures or the threat of thunderstorms, but the absence of their therapists.

For one writer, the three-week break is a time of dread, as she worries that without her regular sessions, her life will become 'messier and trickier to predict.' She's not alone, however, as many New Yorkers lose their therapists during this time.

Despite the uncertainty, the writer has come up with a plan to cope with her emotions. She'll focus on talking to and listening to others, and avoid living in her head, where anxiety and chaos tend to reign.

As she navigates the city's challenges, she'll also be keeping an eye out for the next horror to befall New Yorkers: a citywide shortage of cava, a mayor who loses focus, or an infestation of those pesky scooters.

And so, as she looks up at the thundery sky, she sighs, 'New York,' a city that's always full of surprises, and always keeps her on her toes.
