On August 4, 2019, Mary Kitany, wife of Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, made headlines with a sworn affidavit detailing the problems in their marriage.
According to the affidavit, Senator Linturi's inability to satisfy his wife in the bedroom was one of the many reasons their marriage was on the rocks.
Kitany alleged that Linturi would often claim exhaustion or sickness to avoid intimate moments, but in most cases, he simply could not rise to the occasion.
She also accused Linturi of being a violent man who would openly insult and discriminate against her children.
Furthermore, Kitany claimed that Linturi had stopped buying gifts for her children, a practice he used to follow, and instead would only buy gifts for his own children.
These allegations come as the couple is embroiled in a fierce court battle over their property.
