Paris Saint-Germain secured their first trophy of the 2019-20 season on August 3, 2019, by defeating Rennes in the French Super Cup at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre.

The match began with Rennes taking the lead after 13 minutes, courtesy of a goal from Adrien Hunou, who scored off a cross from Benjamin Bourigeaud.

However, PSG fought back and equalized before the 60th minute, thanks to a goal from Kylian Mbappe, who fired home from close range after receiving a pass from Sarabia.

Angel di Maria made his introduction count as the former Man United star gave PSG a 73rd-minute lead from a well-taken free-kick.

Despite Rennes' efforts to level the score, PSG held on to their slim lead to win the Super Cup.
