On Saturday, August 3, 2019, a funeral service was held at St. Augustine Kandege Secondary School in Fort Ternan to pay tribute to Dr. Joyce Laboso, the Bomet County governor who had passed away earlier that week due to cancer.
Dr. Laboso's body arrived at her matrimonial home on Friday evening for an overnight stay, allowing family and friends to pay their last respects.
Leaders from across the country, including President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, and ODM leader Raila Odinga, were in attendance to honor the late governor.
