Kenyan football fans are expected to turn out in large numbers to support Harambee Stars in their second leg CHAN qualifiers match against Tanzania on August 3, 2019 at Kasarani.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa has assured fans of their security, stating that all 24 entrances to the stadium will be manned by regular police, General Services Units (GSUs), and the National Youth Service (NYS) beginning from the Safari Park entrance.
According to Mwendwa, the standardization of entrance tickets will allow fans to sit anywhere, minimizing the risk of disruption. He believes this will draw more fans to the stadium and provide ease of access.
Stars will be counting on the 12th man support in their quest to down the Taifa Stars. The team is three matches away from making a maiden CHAN appearance and a win against Taifa Stars will place Kenya close to the competition.
FKF boss Nick Mwendwa has dismissed speculations of unrest in the Stars camp due to a financial crunch. He confirmed that the government has not remitted funds despite a requisition made on June 20, 2019.
Stars have a clean record at Kasarani, having downed the likes of Ethiopia and Ghana in the past AFCON qualification fixtures.
