Uhuru Praises Joyce Laboso's Husband for Integrity ¶
On August 3, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta praised Edwin Abonyo, the husband of late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, for his integrity and humility.
Speaking at a funeral service for Laboso, Abonyo impressed the President with his calm and composed demeanor, even in the face of adversity.
Abonyo revealed that he had never received any government contracts from Bomet County, despite his wife being the governor.
Uhuru Kenyatta was visibly moved by Abonyo's integrity and praised him for being a true example of a man who values humility and integrity.
"Alikuwa spika mwenye ustadi kutoka Bomet na nilijiambia kwamba ni ukweli ukimwona mwanamke ambaye amefaulu maishani basi alikuwa na mume aliye na uadilifu. Yale yote ambayo umetuambia kumhusu, unyenyekevu licha ya katika uongozi, uadilifu wake ulikuwa wa kweli," Uhuru said.
Uhuru also praised Abonyo for his calm and composed demeanor, saying that he was a true example of a man who values humility and integrity.
"Natumai iwapo sote tutatilia maanani kile ambacho Edwin amesema, basi nchi itakuwa na amani. Tusiwe kama wale ambao wanahubiri kuhusu maadili mema kisha wanafanya kinyume," Uhuru added.
