John Avire, a former Sofapaka star, has made a surprise move to Egyptian second-tier side Tanta SC, just three weeks after going AWOL.
According to a post on Tanta SC's social media pages, Avire has joined the Egyptian outfit, as seen in a photo of him wearing the team's blue and yellow colours while juggling a ball.
The move comes after Avire sneaked out of the country to negotiate a deal with Tanta SC, sparking a controversy that led to the resignation of Robert Muthomi, the long-serving FKF CEO, who was accused of player tapping.
Tanta SC is a city club based in Tanta town and competes in the Egyptian second division, established on June 5, 1926.
