On August 3, 2019, former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba took to social media to dispel reports claiming he was battling cancer.
Chiloba's response came after an article published by a local blog went viral on social media, sparking rumors about his health.
"Please ignore the fake news doing rounds. Those spreading rumors are insensitive to the pain of those who suffer from cancer," Chiloba tweeted.
He added, "I am well, and just yesterday, I clocked my fastest 10.5 Kilometers run," further dismissing the rumors.
Chiloba's denial comes as another public figure, Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok, also faced false reports about his health.
