Former Manchester United winger Nani has spoken highly of Bruno Fernandes, a player who is reportedly on the radar of both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Nani, he told Fernandes that he would 'shine' in England and drive the fans 'crazy' with his ability, as quoted by SportWitness in an interview with Portuguese publication A Bola on August 3, 2019.
'I often said to him, 'you with the strength you have, if you train a little more you will explode and drive the English crazy,' Nani said.
'England is where he will shine, it's the league where the players get the ball in after every shot, there are spectacular goals.'
Nani, who used to be Sporting captain before the armband was handed to Fernandes, also spoke about Fernandes' appointment as captain, saying it was 'very well delivered.'
However, Nani also made some comments that could be seen as a veiled criticism of those who are spreading rumors about Fernandes, saying 'there are a lot of envious people, they can't see good news about certain players and that frustrates others.'
