On August 3, 2019, the body of the late Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth was cremated in Nairobi in a ceremony attended by his family and a few close friends.
According to Edwin Sifuna, the family's lawyer and ODM Secretary General, the cremation took place in the morning of that day.
The family had agreed to the cremation following a DNA test, which was a condition set by Okoth's widow before allowing the body to be cremated.
Initially, the ODM party had suggested that the body be flown to Homa Bay County for a final farewell before being cremated, but the family had other plans.
