On August 3, 2019, a Nairobi court helped resolve a long-standing dispute over the burial of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth.

After a consent was signed by his wife Monica Okoth and his lover Anne Thumbi, the court adopted the agreement, paving the way for the cremation of Okoth's body.

As per the consent, a DNA test was to be conducted to confirm the paternity of Thumbi's son.

Okoth's family had been divided over his burial, with his wife and younger brother pushing for cremation, while his mother and elder brother wanted him buried at their home in Kasewe, Kabondo Kasipul.

Okoth's remains were cremated at the Kariokor Crematorium in the presence of his family, in accordance with his wishes.

"Hon. Okoth's remains have been cremated this morning in accordance with his wishes and in the presence of his family. May his soul Rest In Peace." — The ODM Party (@TheODMparty) August 3, 2019
