Polycarp Igathe, a seasoned businessman, has made headlines once again with his latest career move. The former Managing Director of Equity Bank has rejoined Vivo Energy as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, effective September 1, 2019.

According to a statement from Vivo Energy CEO, Igathe's new role is a newly created position that will oversee sales and marketing across the group.

Igathe's move comes just a year after he joined Equity Bank as Chief Commercial Officer in May 2018. He was promoted to Managing Director in September 2018, after serving as Nairobi Deputy Governor for four months.

Before joining Equity Bank, Igathe was the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Kenya. His latest career change has sparked debate on social media, with many questioning his job-hopping habits and whether he is leaving a lasting impact in his roles.

As one Twitter user noted, 'Some of us are seeking employment, whereas employment is seeking Polycarp Igathe.'

Others have expressed concern about Igathe's ability to switch jobs frequently, citing the challenges that others face in finding stable employment.

Despite the criticism, Igathe's latest move has also sparked admiration from some, who see him as a 'lucky guy' who is able to find new opportunities with ease.
