Ken Okoth's interment will go ahead as planned after his family and nominated MCA Anne Thumbi reached an agreement on Friday, August 2, 2019.

According to lawyer Edwin Sifuna, who represented Okoth's mother Angelina Ajwang' and his wife Monica, the family will conduct a DNA test at 4pm to formalize the recognition of Jayden Baraka Okoth, the son of Okoth and Thumbi, who was born in 2015.

Thumbi had moved to court to stop the burial and cremation of Okoth until his son was recognized and included in the burial arrangements. However, the court ordered that after the DNA sample is taken, the MP's interment should go on as planned.

Speaking after the agreement, Sifuna said, 'Sample of DNA are being taken between now and 4pm and Jayden has been allowed to be part of the burial programme.'

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna expressed his happiness that the obstacle that threatened to stop Okoth's burial had been resolved, saying, 'I am happy there is light at the end of the tunnel, we are proceeding to Lee Funeral home to clear all pending issues.'
