Jose Mourinho has been enjoying time out of the game since his sacking by Manchester United in December 2018. However, the Portuguese manager is now focusing on returning to club management, with top-flight leagues in England, Spain, Germany, Italy, or France being his target.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Mourinho revealed that his public image differs significantly from his personal life. He explained that he is a private person who values his loneliness when working, often feeling isolated even with staff around him.
'It's probably my fault. I am very closed. When I am working I need my loneliness. The football manager on many occasions is a lonely man. Lonely with his thoughts. Lonely with his feelings. Lonely with his decisions,' Mourinho said.
He also acknowledged that his successes at Manchester United were not fully appreciated, despite winning the Europa League and finishing second in the Premier League. 'I can just say that the Manchester United time was not an easy time. I always felt that to win the Europa League was fantastic and it didn't look like it was, the way people approach it,' he said.
Mourinho also promised that he will be 'so, so happy' when he takes on his next managerial job, and will walk into the press conference with a big smile.
