On August 2, 2019, a court ruling allowed the child to participate in the funeral program of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
As a result, the cremation of Okoth's body will proceed as planned, with DNA samples taken from the body at Lee Funeral Home.
Lawyer Dunstan Omari, representing MCA Anne Muthoni, stated that both parties had engaged in discussions and resolved the matter as a family issue.
Omari emphasized that there was no dispute over property or final funeral rights for Okoth, and that each party would present their own pathologist to collect DNA samples.
He added that the pathologist would provide the methodologies for the DNA test, and that the results would be awaited.
Omari's client, MCA Anne Muthoni, had no intention of stopping the funeral program, as she 'loved Ken so much.'
Former PM Raila Odinga, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and their legal teams were part of the meeting that reportedly went late into the night.
