Kenya Power Announces Power Interruptions Across the Country

Kenya Power has announced power interruptions in over 20 counties, affecting many people and businesses across the country. The power blackouts will occur at different intervals starting August 4.

According to a notice issued by the utility firm, the power interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of the power line to the network, connect new customers, or replace power lines. The notice reads: “Notice is hereby given that the electricity supply will be interrupted to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of the power line to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines,”

Residents in Nairobi County can expect power blackouts in various areas, including Kasarani, Nairobi West, and parts of Langata Road, Marakwet Road, and Tuala. The blackouts will occur on August 6 and 8.

Other areas affected by the power blackouts include Embakasi, Syokimau in Nairobi South Region, Machakos and Makueni counties, Nakuru County, and parts of Bomet and Kericho counties. The Coast region, comprising of Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kilifi, and Mombasa counties, will also experience power blackouts on different days.

Residents are advised to check the Kenya Power website for specific dates and times of the power blackouts in their areas.
