Big Ted's remarkable weight loss journey has inspired many. From a whopping 168 kgs to a lean 97 kgs, his transformation is a testament to his determination and resilience.
As an event MC for the president, Thomas Kwaka, also known as Big Ted, has been open about his struggles with weight loss. In a recent interview on Churchill's reality show, he shared his incredible story.
"I was 168 kgs, and now I'm 97 kgs," Big Ted said. "I've tried every diet imaginable, and I've even undergone gastric bypass surgery in India, which has helped me achieve my current weight."
However, Big Ted's ultimate goal is to reach 90 kgs. He believes that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
"I've always been driven to succeed, even when faced with challenges," Big Ted said. "I've learned to adapt and overcome obstacles, and I'm confident that I can achieve my weight loss goals."
For those who may not be familiar with gastric bypass surgery, it's a surgical procedure that involves dividing the stomach into a small upper pouch and a larger lower pouch, and then rearranging the small intestine to connect to both.
While gastric bypass surgery may seem like an expensive option, there are simpler ways to kick-start weight loss. Here are four easy steps to get you started:
Four Simple Ways to Kick-Start Weight Loss ¶
- Incidental activity: Look for daily opportunities to increase exercise, such as taking the stairs at work or getting off the bus or train one or two stops earlier.
- Intermittent fasting: Try the 5:2 diet, which involves consuming a normal number of calories five days a week and then eating just 25% of your usual calorie intake for two non-consecutive days.
- Portion sizes: Be mindful of your plate sizes and the number of courses you eat.
- Mindless snacking: Avoid snacking between meals, as this can hinder weight loss.
