On August 8, 2018, Evans Kidero, the former Nairobi Governor, was arrested and charged with abuse of office, money laundering, and bribery charges. The latest development in this case is the impounding of a car belonging to Kidero over tax evasion claims.
The car in question is a Mercedes Benz 500E, which reports allege was illegally imported by the former county boss. According to a source, the car has a fake registration plate and an illegal plate number, and is being held at Parklands Police Station alongside another car belonging to Kidero's friend.
However, those close to Kidero claim that the car was registered legally, but the only mistake was that it was registered as a station wagon instead of a saloon car. This is the latest in a series of woes for Kidero, who was arrested on August 8, 2018.
