Uhuru Kenyatta Receives Special Gift of Peacocks from Magufuli

On August 2, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta received a special gift of peacocks from Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli during his visit to Tanzania.

The peacocks were handed over to the President by the Tanzanian High Commissioner to Kenya, Dr. Pindi Chana, who also delivered a congratulatory message from Magufuli.

Magufuli had promised to give Kenyatta the peacocks during his visit to Tanzania in August 2019, saying it was a token of appreciation for the Kenyan President.

After receiving the peacocks, Kenyatta expressed his gratitude to Magufuli for the gift, saying it was a symbol of the strong friendship and unity between the two countries.

He also assured the Tanzanian President that Kenya would ensure the peacocks receive the best care to ensure their dignity and pride.

Dr. Chana praised Kenyatta for his leadership and said the peacocks were a symbol of the love, respect, and deep friendship between the two countries.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki, Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, and Senators Ken Lusaka, Aden Duale, and Kipchumba Murkomen.

Also in attendance were Kenya's High Commissioner to Tanzania, Dan Kazungu, and Tanzanian Defence Forces Channel Fabian Machemba.
