On August 1, 2019, Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited appointed Chiboli Shakaba as its new Board Chairman, succeeding David Kimei. Shakaba joined the Corporation's board on June 13, 2014.

Shakaba has a long and distinguished career in public service, having served as a District Officer in the Provincial Administration from 1980 to 1986. He has also held various positions in the Central Government, including the Ministries of Finance, Health, Home Affairs, and Lands and Housing.

Shakaba is a recipient of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Nairobi and a Master's Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University.

He has also served as an Alternate Director in various State Corporations and is a member of the Institute of Directors of Kenya.

Shakaba was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of East African Community from April 2012 to June 2013.
