August 2, 2019, marked a day when Diamond Platnumz's mother, Sandra, took to the airwaves to defend her son against claims of drug abuse.

Speaking in a recent interview with Global Online TV, Sandra urged the public to disregard the false rumors circulating about her son's alleged drug use.

According to Sandra, Diamond can never take drugs, let alone abuse them, due to their side effects. She further emphasized that if he had ever taken drugs in the past, it would have been evident during his stay in Madale.

She attributed Diamond's frequent tiredness to his many live performances, which weigh him down. Unlike his competitors, Diamond sings live, and his voice sounds bad after a long performance.

His manager, Babu Tale, had previously opened up about Diamond's back-to-back performances, stating that the artist was suffering from accumulated fatigue.

It was Tanzanian blogger Mange Kimambi who initially sparked the drug abuse rumors after sharing a clip of Diamond looking off during an interview.

Background

It is worth noting that Diamond's manager, Babu Tale, had previously expressed concerns about Diamond's health due to his round-the-clock work schedule.
