Secret Affair Revealed ¶
Anne Muthoni Thumbi, a nominated Member of County Assembly, has spoken out about her secret affair with the late Kibra MP, Ken Okoth. In an interview with Nation, published on August 2, 2019, Anne revealed how she and Ken met before he became a legislator.
According to Anne, the two met occasionally, even engaging in campaigns together. As reported by Nation, 'As the political campaigns heated up, Ken asked Anne to lead his team. Every morning the two would meet in Kibra to strategise, then spend the day knocking on doors and addressing small barazas (meetings).'
Anne and Ken's affair remained secret, as he was married to Monica, whom he met while studying in Austria. Despite not residing together, Ken was actively involved in the life of their son, Jayden Baraka Okoth, who was born in 2015.
Ken's widow, Monica, is reportedly against any attempts to have their son mentioned in her late husband's funeral announcement. However, close allies and family of the late MP confirmed that the child is a regular visitor at the MP's mother's home, Angelina Ajwang.
Ken Okoth included the child in his will before his untimely death, as confirmed by a close confidant. A close source also told The Star that the MP never shied from making it known that he fathered the boy.
Blowing the cover during Ken's memorial service, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko expressed his respect for Ken's mother and Monica, but also urged them to accept their son, Jayden, as Ken's child.
