The video, shared on a closed Facebook group, captures the woman lying on the floor with her newborn baby, whose placenta is still attached to her womb, wrapped in a shuka.
According to the woman who shared the video, the incident occurred on Sunday night. She claimed that she and a friend encountered the pregnant woman in distress, who had broken water and was ready to give birth.
Despite the woman's pleas for help, hospital staff seemed indifferent and rude, prompting the woman and an unidentified man to intervene and assist the mother in safely delivering her baby.
The video has sparked widespread criticism of Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, which has a history of poor service delivery and unprofessional staff behavior.
