On August 2, 2019, Kenyan Britain-based comedian Njambi McGrath faced a tough crowd at the International Laugh Festival held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Despite being a celebrated international comedian who has performed on stages like the BBC New Year International Comedy Celebration, McGrath's jokes failed to resonate with the audience.
As she tried to salvage the situation, McGrath switched from English to Swahili and then to Kikuyu, but her jokes still flew past the audience.
Even the intervention of Laugh Festival CEO Churchill and MC Jessy couldn't save the moment, and McGrath was eventually forced to exit the stage.
