On August 1, 2019, a shocking incident occurred at Kakamega Police Station, where a 24-year-old Administration Police officer was found murdered in his house at police living quarters.
The officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was discovered lying in a pool of blood, clutching his AK47 rifle which was loaded with 29 rounds of ammunition.
Police are yet to determine the motive behind the murder, but an investigation is underway to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following the discovery of the officer's body, a colleague suspected of being involved in the murder was identified and arrested.
During the arrest, the suspect was found with bloodstained boots, which may serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.
This incident comes on the heels of a similar incident in May, where a Kenya Navy officer shot and killed his colleague at the Kenya Navy Mtongwe Base in Likoni before turning the gun on himself.
