On August 2, 2019, police in Eldoret launched a search for a politician after raiding his palatial house in Elgon View Estate and finding fake local and foreign currency worth more than Sh100 million.
The house belongs to Peter Sitati, who lost the 2017 Webuye West parliamentary seat election.
The raid was prompted by a complaint filed by a woman who claimed the politician had defrauded her of Sh600,000.
During the raid, police arrested the caretaker of the house.
Police are now looking for the politician and his female accomplice.
