Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko made headlines during the memorial service of late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, when he revealed that Okoth had a 'secret' son.
According to Sonko, the son, also named Okoth, was a private matter best left to the family, but he felt compelled to share the information.
However, prominent radio personality Maina Kageni was not impressed with Sonko's outburst, arguing that it was not the right platform for such a revelation.
As Maina pointed out, 'Was that the right platform to ropoka? That is information the family had tried to keep away from the public. Plus Okoth's mother was also present.'
Furthermore, Maina questioned whether Sonko had done the right thing, given the circumstances.
He also expressed his disappointment with Sonko's actions, stating, 'People like Sonko have no reverse gear not brakes. I cannot keep a friend like him.'
It has been reported that Ken and his wife Monicah had trouble siring a child of their own, and the cremation/burial of Okoth has been temporarily stopped until a decision is made by the court on the paternity of the child alleged to have been sired by Okoth.
