On July 1, 2019, a 7-year-old boy in India was admitted to hospital with complaints of jaw pain in his lower right molars.

Doctors performed a scan and discovered a rare tumor in his lower jaw, where 526 teeth had settled.

The tumor, called a compound odontoma, affected the normal growth of his teeth.

Surgeons extracted the teeth from his lower jaw, and the boy was released after spending three days in hospital.

According to doctors, the 526 teeth ranged from 0.1 millimeters to 15 millimeters in size, with each tooth having a crown, root, and enamel coat.

"There were a total of 526 teeth ranging from 0.1 millimeters to 15 millimeters. Even the smallest piece had a crown, root and enamel coat indicating it was a tooth," one of the doctors revealed.
