As the transfer window nears shutdown, Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is reportedly being scouted by Premier League side Bournemouth, according to the English news outlet Daily Mail on August 1, 2019.

Wanyama failed to feature in Spurs' 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Audi Cup semi-finals on Tuesday, with his club citing a knee injury as the reason for his absence.

However, Bournemouth have made a late bid for the 28-year-old, who is currently struggling with a knee injury, as they look to strengthen their midfield following the news that midfielder Dan Gosling will be sidelined for the next three months due to hip surgery.

“Victor Wanyama reported irritation in his knee after training today and has remained in Enfield to be assessed,” read a statement on the club’s website.

Wanyama's struggles for playing time at Tottenham have been well-documented, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino preferring to play English midfielders Eric Dier and Harry Winks, and the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele from Olympique Lyon has added to Wanyama's woes as he fights for a place in the first eleven.
