On August 1, 2019, Nicolas Pepe, a 24-year-old Ivorian winger, made history by becoming Arsenal's record signing in a deal valued at £72m.
Pepe, who had netted 22 goals and supplied 11 assists in Ligue 1 the previous season, penned a five-year deal with the Gunners, marking the end of his five-year stint at LOSC Lille.
