Kalonzo Musyoka Calls for Resolution of Ken Okoth's Burial Dispute Outside Court ¶
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged the family and stakeholders of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth to resolve the burial dispute outside court.
Speaking during Okoth's funeral service on August 1, 2019, Kalonzo expressed his disappointment with the court's decision to halt the burial plans of the late MP.
According to earlier reports by TUKO.co.ke, the burial plans of Okoth were disrupted following his death on July 26, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
Okoth's mother, Angelina Ajwang', had opposed the plan to cremate his body in Nairobi, leading to the court's decision to halt the burial plans.
Kalonzo argued that the court's decision to halt the burial plans was unjustified, citing the dispute as a family matter.
"I wish the court would overturn this decision. Even Chief Justice David Maraga would say something about disputes like this. Why do you want to prevent Okoth from being laid to rest with dignity?" Kalonzo said.
Okoth was set to be buried on August 3, 2019, but the court's decision to halt the burial plans has left his family and stakeholders in a difficult situation.
