On Sunday, Kariobangi Sharks will face Tanzania's Young Africans in a high-stakes pre-season friendly match at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, starting at 4pm.
The match is part of the Siku ya Mwananchi celebrations, and it promises to be an exciting encounter between two teams with a history of rivalry.
Sharks have been in top form, having defeated English Premier League side Everton in a post-match penalty shootout in July, and they are looking to carry this momentum into the match against Yanga.
Yanga, on the other hand, have announced that they will be introducing their new signings for the season, including Kenyan goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo and Uganda striker Juma Balinya, during the match.
Sharks midfielder Sven Yidah is confident that his team can repeat their previous victory over Yanga, which they achieved with a 3-2 win in the SportPesa Cup earlier in the year.
“Pre-season is important. Each game is important. We have beaten Yanga before and there is no reason why we cannot repeat this feat,” Yidah said.
