On August 1, 2019, the Copa Coca Cola tournament witnessed thrilling matches that determined the semi-finalists. Wiyeta finished their group assignments with a comfortable 3-0 win over Ogari, securing their spot in the semis.
The Rift Valley team, Wiyeta, had already secured a semi-final slot and finished their group assignments in style, whipping Ugari with goals from Shaylin Opisa, Jecinta Karemani, and Laventa Akinyi.
Meanwhile, Njabini secured the other semi-final berth after beating Dagoreti Mixed 3-1, with Lavin Anyango, Everline Adhiambo, and Rita Nyoroka scoring for the central representatives. Faith Osinde bagged the consolation for the Nairobi region representatives.
In the boys' U16 category, Serani maintained their 100% record with a 2-1 win over Gatamaiyu, thanks to goals from Mahir Mohamed and Juma Mwinyikai. Ongao Mucheni scored the consolation for Gatamaiyu.
Koyonzo moved to the semis with a 1-0 win over Goseta from Rift Valley, with Fred Okutoyi scoring the lone goal.
Coach Amos Juma of Goseta reflected on the experience, saying, 'It was a good outing for the boys. It’s the first time they are playing in the national school games and and I believe they will learn from this.'
Chrisantus Joseph Otsieno, coach of Koyonzo, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, 'The boys played according to instructions. Our goal was to qualify for at least the semi-final and we have achieved that.'
