Published on August 1, 2019, an 80-year-old grandfather was tragically killed in Kakamega County after a dispute over food.

According to Shinyalu District Officer Mofat Moseti, Jamen Mulama was killed by his son Musa Luvowa, 39, with a jembe (hoe) at his home in Senyende village, Muranda location, Shinyalu Constituency.

Moseti explained that trouble started when the two got into an argument over a piece of ugali, which quickly turned ugly. Luvowa allegedly took a jembe and struck his father, killing him on the spot.
