Why Women Struggle with Weight Loss

According to a nutritional expert, women's lower metabolic rate is a significant factor in their struggle with weight loss. This is due to their lower muscle mass and higher percentage of body fat.

Women's hormones control their metabolic rate, and if they lose too much body fat, they may lose their menstrual function. This can lead to weight gain and make it more challenging to lose weight.

Additionally, women tend to have a higher emotional attachment to food, which can impair their food decisions. This attachment is often formed through experiences, especially those from childhood, and can make it difficult for women to control their diet and lifestyle.

Exercise is also crucial in weight loss, and even a small amount of physical activity can make a big difference. A daily walk after meals, for example, can improve insulin resistance and reduce blood sugar levels.

However, despite the importance of exercise, many people struggle with weight loss due to scarring to fat tissue. A recent study from the University of Exeter found that when fat tissue becomes distressed, scarred, and inflamed, the body is unable to soak up calories, making it harder to slim down.

Four simple ways to kick-start weight loss include incidental activity, intermittent fasting, portion sizes, and mindless snacking. By incorporating these strategies into their daily routine, women can improve their chances of successful weight loss.
