On August 1, 2019, Nigerian musician Davido took to Twitter to express his frustration with critics who claim his father's wealth is the reason behind his success.

According to Davido, he has worked hard to achieve his current status in the music industry, despite being the son of a wealthy businessman.

His father, Adedeji Adeleke, is a Nigerian billionaire and founder of Adeleke University.

After his song gained 2 million views in 24 hours, Davido shared a video on Twitter, stating, 'I Have Been In This Industry For 7 years And Nobody Supports me, They Just Hate Me – Not My Fault That My Father Is Rich.'

However, Davido's music career has been marked by success, with one of his early songs, 'Omo Baba Olowo Yoruba,' showcasing his pride in his lineage.

Despite the criticism, Davido has continued to produce hit songs, including his recent collaboration with Chris Brown, 'Blow my Mind.'

It remains to be seen whether Davido's hard work and talent will silence his critics once and for all.
