August 1, 2019, marked a significant day in the music industry as Babu Tale, artist manager of Wasafi Records, shared his remarkable story of discovering Rayvanny from Tip Top group.
Speaking to Wasafi TV, Babu Tale revealed that Rayvanny was known for using public means to get to the studio and was often troublesome on the phone, prompting him to wish he could block him for good.
Despite the challenges, Babu Tale shared that Rayvanny is the only artist he has ever bought a gift from abroad.
He also recalled how Rayvanny was living at his brother's house when they were hit by floods, leaving his clothes soaked and barefoot. Babu Tale advised Rayvanny to finish school before reaching out to him, which he did, and is now where he is today.
According to Babu Tale, Chuma's recognition in the music industry took a whopping 4 years while transitioning from Tip Top to Wasafi.
Babu Tale also revealed that he does not approach other artists because they often lash back at him through their songs.
He shared a personal anecdote about Rayvanny's past, saying, 'Alikuwa anapanda malori kutoka Mbeya kuja Dar, Alikuwa msumbufu sana anapiga simu kila muda, hadi nilitamani nimblock na ndio msanii pekee niliyomnunulia zawadi kutoka nje ya nchi.'
He also mentioned that he started to fear helping artists because they often sang about him in their songs.
Babu Tale also shared that Rayvanny lived in Magomeni with his brother when they were hit by floods, leaving his clothes soaked and barefoot.
